M. Zakir

Mr. Muhammad Zakir joined the school in September 2018 and has accumulated experience in various sectors within islamic studies and education in general. He studied the alimiyyah programme (advanced Islamic Studies) for 8 years in a local seminary in Birmingham whilst simultaneously gaining a Level 3 diploma in Accounting. He furthered his studies in Islamic jurisprudence at a seminary in Blackburn. After completing this training Mr. Zakir was fortunate to receive a scholarship to study an intensive 18 module Post-Graduate Diploma in Contextual Islamic Studies and Leadership at the prestigious Cambridge Muslim College. He was trained in both academic subjects as well many pastoral subjects such as Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy, Western Intellectual History, Political History, Islamic Education, Counselling and Community Leadership.
Since graduating Mr. Zakir remains busy in community work, such as delivering sermons in various towns and cities, serving as an umrah tour guide and also teaching children, teenagers and adults. He is currently working on his project called www.islamicresourcehub.com which aims to facilitate the sharing of Islamic resources for teachers, parents and imams to download for free.
Finally Mr. Zakir is in the process of completing his degree in Education Studies within a few months; a course which focuses on primary education in particular educational theory, practice and pedagogy. He aspires to specialise in his interest of curriculum development in the future.
