Hilary Sanderson  (Education Gov- Curriculum)

Hilary.sanderson.gov@alkhairschool.org.uk

I started my career as a peripatetic music teacher, mainly for violin, piano and voice, moving into general class teaching after a couple of years. I then spent 30 years covering various subjects including ICT and music with 3-13 year olds in maintained and independent schools, and am currently working part-time in a children’s nursery with 0-4 year olds as well as being a part-time PA for an education consultant.

When not working, I love to sing with small ensembles or as a soloist, and enjoy playing the violin and dancing for a Morris dancing side. I’ve also recently started learning to play the melodeon. I have been a governor at our local village school for the last 7 years and am delighted to join Al Khair School Board of Governors.

aspects of running the schools from Finance to Health & Safety and many areas in between.
I have a genuine interest to see the school succeed and reach its full potential and will continue
to work closely with the schools where I am able to offer assistance and support.

Julia (Yearwood Education Governor)

Julia.Yearwood@alkhairschool.org.uk

I have been working within the education system since 1998, as a mainstream and EBD school teacher until 2009, then as a child and adolescent psychotherapist, working in schools, social care and private practice. I feel immensely grateful for the opportunity to contribute to so many young lives over the past 25 years.
In addition to being a psychotherapist, I am also a yoga teacher, specialising in using yoga as a healing tool for physical and emotional health and wellbeing.

As a governor at Al-Khair schools, the children will always be at the centre of my thinking, as I will apply my skills, experience and dedication to thinking about and reviewing how we can consistently meet the needs of each child in Al Khair schools.
