Winter Iftar Programme!
Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatulahi wa Barakatuhu,
Dear Parents/ Guardians,
One of our greatest ambitions at the school is to encourage our students and staff to dedicate their lives to the worship and remembrance of Allah. For this reason, we encourage everyone to take advantage of the winter months in which it is easier for us to fast and spend a portion of the night engaged in prayer. To facilitate this, from Monday 18th November, we will be having a twice-weekly Iftar (Mondays & Thursdays) at the school for any students who wish to fast and join us for Iftar and Salat after school.
The Iftar will be provided to students free of charge but donations from parents are welcome. Please collect your child by 4:30 pm as no staff supervision will be available after the time mentioned. We ask Allah subhanahu wa talaa to accept our efforts to draw closer to Him. May He enable us to draw closer to Him through worship and remembrance, by means taught to us by the messenger of Allah may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him.
It was narrated that ‘Aa’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was keen to fast on Mondays and Thursdays. Narrated by alTirmidhi, 745; al-Nasaa’i, 2361; Ibn Maajah, 1739 Iftar donations can be made via SIMS PAY or by handing in to the school office FAO Sr Aliya Ali.
